Our favorite ways to wear fall colors
Fall is officially here! The leaves are turning colors, you’re carting your kids around to a million soccer games, and it is now finally acceptable to start incorporating autumnal hues into your wardrobe. Using Pantone’s Fall 2014 Fashion Color Report as inspiration, we’ve got the how-to guide that will have you looking fabulous all season long.
Emulating the color of evergreen trees, cypress is the ideal hue to help you transition your wardrobe into cooler temperatures. Skinny jeans in this color look incredibly chic tucked into brown riding boots and paired with a neutral sweater (think aluminum or cognac) and a statement necklace or scarf. The best part about this outfit? It only takes seconds to throw on before you run out the door!
Say hello to fall’s go-to neutral: aluminum. Slightly less austere than basic black, this hue can be paired with any bright color to balance out your outfit. This season we’re loving cardigans and coats in aluminum and similarly subdued hues (cognac and camel should also be on your fall color list). Pair with any of Pantone’s fall 2014 colors, including bright cobalt, cypress and sangria.
Sangria isn’t just a delightful summer drink! Remind yourself of those backyard barbecues and days at the beach as the weather turns colder by incorporating this gorgeous hue into your wardrobe. Sangria looks stunning in blouse form, and can easily transition from fall to winter. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, wear this hue in a plaid pattern as a coat or cape.
If sangria is a little too loud for you, keep an eye out for items in bright cobalt. Paired with cognac neutrals, it’s the perfect hue for a sunny fall day. If you want to wear this color for date night, combine it with black boots and a leather jacket. To bring bright cobalt with you wherever you go, grab a purse in this happy hue – it looks stunning all year-round!
