Looks that work for the office and after-hours
No one wants to bring an entirely different outfit to the office for after-work activities. Extra clothes take up more room than we want to spare, and they can be heavy! These outfits easily transition from work to drinks or a workout without adding a lot of extra items to your bag:
If you’re heading to drinks with friends:
Meeting up with friends is a great opportunity to try out a more daring office outfit. We’re not talking short hemlines and small straps – try bold colors instead! Wear a classic midi-length dress in plum with black knit tights and boots. Add a black blazer if your office is a little chilly. Before you head out to meet your friends, switch your boots for a pair of fun heels, adding a confident bounce in your step that your girlfriends are sure to notice! Put on a belt with a sparkly buckle over the dress or over your coat for a little bit of eye-catching brilliance. You could even switch your tights out for a patterned pair, adding some texture. Your friends will notice the extra touches that liven up your look.

If you’re off to a date:
For work try a classic pencil skirt and button-up. Pick a skirt with an interesting texture, like wool, or maybe one with a pattern. Keep it simple on top with a solid-colored button-up. Wear a sweater or blazer for warmth and an extra business-y feel. For your date don some jewelry that he’s sure to notice like chandelier earrings and a bejeweled necklace. Trade your button-up for a blouse with a more feminine feel and leave your blazer at the office. If you wore tights to work, switch them out for a pair of sheer black ones to add some sophistication. Your date will definitely notice!

If your next stop is the gym:
Wearing clothing that is comfortable to work is important, but velour track suits and sneakers are a no-go. Leggings are a great way to make the transition from working to working out, or at least looking like it. Pair black leggings with a dress, sweater, or tunic for work. Make sure your top covers your backside in order to keep your outfit professional. Add a tuxedo-style sweater that is longer in the back than in the front for extra coverage and warmth. When you head to the gym, change into a sports bra and T-shirt. Add some tennis shoes and you’re ready to go!
