Slimming looks for fall

For a dress that’s both fun and flattering, try one with a print and a ribbon belt just above the waistline to give you definition to your waist and present the appearance of a leaner figure.

Once the weather starts to get chillier, staying slim can become more challenging. Luckily, there are plenty of fashionable fall looks that can keep you appearing thin and looking cooler than an autumn breeze. From concealing stoutness in your arms to complementing wider hips, here are some tips to provide you with a leaner appearance that’s also bound to turn heads:

Armor your arms
Upper arms can occasionally be a problem spot for women. Thankfully, the fall provides ample opportunities to don stylish shirt options with sleeves that will cover up large or flabby arms. Sweaters are a great choice for the fall, as they keep you cozy and come in an array of patterns and designs. A sweater with a little shimmer and shine will add some sparkle and comfort to your look. Sweaters with three-quarter-length sleeves will slim your arms while still offering a little room for ventilation. If you’re in pursuit of a more lively sweater option, try a sweater with an adorable animal, like an owl, which is always a wise choice for blending uniqueness with coziness.

Bottoms up
You can always look hip while still hiding your hindquarters through a variety of bottoms that are also ideal for fall fashion. If you’re searching for a slimming option for work or a night out, try a pencil skirt with tights underneath – this silhouette looks gorgeous on an hourglass frame. For a great slimming pant selection this fall, try a ponte pant which features a built-in stretch so you can comfortably walk around while also downplaying fuller hips.

Dress for the occasion

Just because it’s autumn doesn’t mean that your dresses have to remain in the closet all season long. For a dress that doesn’t require constantly sucking in your stomach, nothing says slim quite like a little black dress, especially one with a knee-length cut that can cover up thicker thighs. For a dress that’s both fun and flattering, try a solid dress with a subtle pattern and a ribbon belt just above the waistline to give you definition to your waist and present the appearance of a leaner figure. When paired with matching heels, this dress is ideal for your next autumn social gathering.

Lean leggings
One of the simplest ways to shed some pounds from the appearance your lower body is through leggings. Because they directly adhere to your lower body, leggings are always a go-to option for adding some slenderness to your legs. There are almost infinite ways you can pair leggings with a shape flattering and stylish outfit.

Leggings are a great accessory to have in case you need a quick wardrobe option that will work to thin you out.

    1. Hi Robin,
It sounds like you’re describing a “triangle” shape body. You can absolutely wear colors and patterns that will fit properly and flatter – Triangle body shapes have narrow upper bodies and wider hips, but using bold colors and patterns on top can create some visual proportion. Draw attention to the upper body using vibrant colors and fun patterns, and opt for bottoms that are neutral, dark and solid-colored. We have a wide selection of both Prints & Patterns as well as cute Tunic Tops that look great on almost any body shape! Hope this helps!
