Little black dress: Wear this staple 5 different ways!

Building a great wardrobe starts with gathering a few versatile basics. A flattering pair of jeans, a fitted blazer and a pair of neutral-colored trousers can all be used to create various outfits in every season for any occasion. One of the most versatile wardrobe basics is a little black dress. There are countless ways to wear a black dress, making it one of the most adaptable and practical items any woman can own. Here’s how to wear this all-purpose staple five different ways:

The dress
First, you have to choose the right dress. A fit-and-flare black dress is one of the most universally flattering pieces of clothing, but depending on what you feel good in, feel free to experiment with other styles, such as a sheath dress or wrap dress. Our Seasonless Stretch Dress is made with a flattering cut, quality materials that drape well and a front tie that hides the stomach, which makes it the perfect base of any outfit.

1. At the office
One of the easiest ways to wear a black dress is to the office. Whether you work in a business-formal or more casual environment, the dress can help you look tidy and professional. Wear it with tights, pumps and a fitted cardigan or blazer in a color of your choice. Try a bright cranberry-colored blazer to make a statement or a dove gray cardigan for a more neutral look. A pendant necklace or strand of pearls can jazz up the outfit!

2. To an event
For a more formal or cocktail-attire event, use accessories to glamorize the dress. An elegant jacket with faux fur, sheer lace, pretty beading and brightly colored heels will make you look ready for any evening soiree. Try a bib necklace or a pair of sparkling earrings for an extra dose of elegance.

3. On the weekend
Pairing the dress with patterned tights or comfortable leggings, riding boots and a loose cardigan makes for an easy weekend outfit that looks put together yet casual. Try a long cozy cardigan or even a pull-over cape sweater for some extra warmth and comfort while staying stylish.

4. Out at night
When you’re heading out for a night with your friends, you’ll want to make the dress a little more fun. Try a leather jacket, tights and a pair of heeled ankle booties for a look that makes it clear you’re ready for an entertaining night with friends. Wear jewelry with lots of beads or vibrant colors to add some brightness to the outfit.

5. Transitioning to spring
A little black dress can look lovely in any season. When the weather begins warming up for spring, continue to wear your black dress, and pair it with some bright accessories. A pair of cream flats with or without tights look seasonal, and a bright handbag and denim jacket can make you look casually sophisticated and ready for the warmer months. Throw on a pretty scarf to keep yourself warm during spring evenings!

I love fit and flares. They’re so flattering and classic looking. The print on this one is just amazing.
